Welcome Bill. Yes that does seem quite unusual.... my guess would be a hormone issue of sorts, as the hairless bit would indicate. Then somehow your body got back on track.

I have also some experiences here are two of them.
When I was 13 year old we were with my parents and a friendly couple (they had two boys one of them 11 the other 7 years old) on holiday at the Adria See (Europe) we lived 14 days in a big house but only with 3 bedrooms the three guys must sleep in one room.
On the first morning we took our sleeping suits at the same time off and then I saw that both boys had much bigger dicks then I. I knew at that time that I have a smaller penis then my friends and my classmates but here were two much younger boys and they had also much bigger dicks.I had with 12 years pubic hair and I was much taller then the other boys, the 11 years old had not satrted puberty. I was amazed and embarrased, thank God they said nothing about my dick.
I go twice a week to a swimming pool now I have no problems to be naked in the lockerroom and on the way to the shower I have my towel on my shoulder.
I see there many teenaged or younger boys all of them have bigger dicks than I.
At the first time it was very embarrasing but now its quit normal.
Last week was a Dad with his two sons (about 12-13 and 15-16 years) in the shower at the same time than I. The father had a big dick about 5 inch soft the younger boy also bit smaller about 4 inch but the older son was same size than I 1-1,5 inch. I was amazed that he had no problems to be naked in front of so many guys in the lockerroom and I think it’s a terrible thing when the younger brother is so much bigger.
